The "True Blue Lou" Guitar
We built this guitar for a bluesman down in
Beaufort, North Carolina. It has a maple neck
with a rosewood fretboard. The swamp ash
body has a black dye and a nitrocellulose
lacquer finish. We left it thin so you can see
the beautiful grain lines. It's topped off with a
spalted maple pickguard. We used Seymour
Duncan pickups and a volume, tone, blender
combination with a five-way switch. We seem
to be using this combination alot lately. It has
a wide variety of tones and is very versatile.
We hope this gives "True Blue Lou" that
signature sound he is looking for!
"At the risk of sounding like a school girl gushing over a prom dress, my Delaney Guitars custom True Blue Lou Strat has far
exceeded any of my expectations! I have been playing guitar for over 35 years, ( 25 playing the blues, once I learned how to
play), and have had the opportunity to own or play them all. This guitar is the most "playable" guitar I've ever had in my
hands. It is difficult to describe verbally, however from the first time I picked her up, I have been inspired to go places I have
not been. The playablity, craftmanship, and tone ar far better than any guitar I've ever had the pleasure of playing.
While admittedly tone can be achieved through electronics, wood choices and gadgets, the tones I get from this guitar are the
"fattest, ballsiest, blusiest, quarqiest", I have ever been able to choke out of an axe, pedals or no pedals.
I would whole heartedly recommend others to experience the difference between mass produced "big name" corporate guitars
and try the hand made one at a time Delaney Experience!! You'll not be disappointed!!!"
